* Religious Emphasis:

There will be three classes pertaining to religious emphasis at the 2011 University of Scouting: “Prayer Knot Program Examined,” “Chaplain and Chaplain Aide Positions Explored,” and “Scouts Own Service—A Discussion for the Ages.” Jeff Thompson, a current member of the council's religious relationships committee and current president of the national organization “Baptists

for Scouting,” district vice chair  and Chairman of the Council's Religious Relations Committee Phil Krajec, and district religious emphasis coordinator Tom Waggoner, will be co-leaders of these courses.

The 2012 Duty to God Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 3rd. There is no cost for boys who earned their religious knot; fees for others have not yet been determined. If you have any adults or boys who have earned their religious knot during the past year, please encourage them and their families to sign up for this great recognition event. Also, if you have an adult who, in your opinion, deserves recognition for their religion-related work with youth and the Boy Scouts, please consider nominating them as a Duty to God Banquet Honoree. A nomination form is attached.

Duty to God Weekend (formerly known as God and Me) was scheduled for April 13–15, 2012, at Camp Rainey Mountain, but with the change in date for Scout Blast the organizers have moved it to April 20–22. This year the weekend will cover the prayer programs “God and Me” as well as “God and Family.” We need more leaders to help with the food preparation (no knowledge or experience needed, just a willingness to help!). Also we need leaders who are willing to learn and then share one section of one of these programs! See Tom Waggoner if you can assist in either area.

A Scout is reverent. He is reverent toward God. He is faithful in his religious duties and respects the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion.
